Seminars

Sporting Our Spirit seminars are typically theorectical and academically oriented. We meet in convention rooms, churches, counseling offices, and classroom settings. The intent of a seminar session is to impart the philosophical and theological foundation for uniting faith with fitness. Group leaders, counselors, and fitness professionals generally make up the bulk of these sessions. It is primarily lecture, Q & A, and discussion. The duration of a seminar sessions is usually 1- 2 hours.*

Retreats

Sporting Our Spirit retreats offer testimonials, tools, and the promise for hope and healing to those individuals who feel broken by certain adversities in their life experience. In addition to those individuals who desire to enhance their personal healing, counselors, group facilitators, and pastoral teams benefit from retreat participation as well. These sessions are informative, moderately interactive, and reflective. Retreats are best conducted in serene, natural settings. The duration varies: from a half-day to a weekend.*

Workshops

Sporting Our Spirit workshops offer a combination of theoretical and practical training experiences. Workshops are designed and tailored to the group attending. The duration also depends upon the objectives of the group. A typical workshop might have classes lasting six weeks (example: January- New Year’s resolution theme), held once or twice per week in a church setting. Part of the class or one session is academic and incorporates spiritual discussion. Another part of the workshop is experiential: physical exercise, nutrition, and reflection.*

Personal Training Coaching Packages

FITNESS ASSESSMENT

The first step of a comprehensive program is a personalized fitness assessment. This takes about 90 minutes and includes testing of the following components:

  • health history and health risk evaluation
  • exercise and interest survey
  • body composition
  • aerobic endurance
  • muscular strength
  • endurance flexibility

PERSONAL TRAINING OPTIONS:

Sporting Our Spirit Coaching Ministry offers several coaching packages to meet your individual needs. These personal training programs vary in cost according to how much individual customization and personal attention your particular objectives require.

Training programs are available for triathlon (from sprint to Ironman), swimming and running (5k to marathon). All coached athletes will receive a 10% discount on private swim lessons and clinics.

Gold Package

• Personalized consultation to develop training plan

• Weekly, client-initiated progress calls
• Personalized nutrition breakdown specific to your goals
• One suggested meal p/week applied to your TP program
• One private session per month (swim or run)

Coaching Program Packages

Cancellation Policy
Cancel 14 days before the start of a workshop, training program, or clinic and you will be refunded the full program cost (minus $35 processing fee).

Note:
If you cancel within 14 days of the training or workshop, you will not receive a refund, but the fee can be credited towards a future workshop purchased through Sporting Our Spirit within one year with no penalty.

We require at least 24 hours notice for canceling or rescheduling an appointment. The full fee of the session will be charged.

Training Peaks
You can explore Training Peaks software program on its “Basic” level for free. I use it to create and assign workouts for clients for a fee. It takes some trial and error to learn. However, it is a great way to communicate and to see the progression of your training. Try it out. Remember, joining Training Peaks is free. As a client of mine, your workouts are generally scheduled one month in advance. Each day, you receive an email reminding you of what your workout is. It is beneficial, and as a client of mine, instrumental to your success, that you log in regularly and record the outcomes of your workouts.

Sporting Our Spirit is a coaching ministry. There are many causes dear to my heart. A certain number of training programs are available for no fee other than travel, materials, and per diem reimbursement. Often these are presented as auction fundraisers or Sporting Our Spirit visits/presentations to grief or counseling groups.

Note: Ten percent of all Sporting Our Spirit profits will go toward charities that deal with grief support.

Price Structures

Program costs are based on the location, group size, and the objective. Please contact me to discuss.

I absolutely believe that I offer a unique and powerful coaching ministry program to maximize your overall wellbeing and physical conditioning. Can you achieve this without my help? Most certainly!
